West Midlands, UK
Intro to Digital for the West Midlands is currently closed.
The next West Midlands Software Dev class is planned for 2024.
The Fundamentals module takes place before the Software Development Course. The Fundamentals module introduces some basic programming concepts such as variables, loops and functions. We also learn the best ways to learn remotely. During this module we will observe you and how you manage the content. We are also interested in seeing how you work with the other students as a team.
Unfortunately, not all students will progress to the Software Development course. We will assess you on how you work as a team, how committed you are and how you adapt to JavaScript which might be new to you. You can find the graduation criteria here.
You can read more about the Fundamentals on our syllabus pages
You don't need any coding experience to join CodeYourFuture. Many of our graduates who had never coded before now have great jobs in tech. Our first course, the Intro to Coding, is designed for people who have never coded.
If you finish the Intro to Digital Course, you can apply for the Software Development course.
The best way to get help with the Intro to Digital coursework is to attend a workshop - there you will receive guidance from CYF trainees and professionals from the tech industry.
We will invite you to workshops a few days after you register in the West Midlands.
Is it possible to complete the The Intro to Digital while on benefits, if you follow benefits guidance. Please check with your Benefits officer before you proceed.
For the Programming Fundamentals and Software Developement Courses, please check with your benefits officer.
