Tech Projects & Employability Manager
Code Your Future is looking for a manager working globally to help our graduates make the final leap into employment in a hybrid role coordinating tech projects and leading on graduate employability.
You will work with students, graduates, volunteers, and employers across the UK (with an initial focus on West Midlands), Italy, and South Africa.
You will coordinate the support for our graduates for the time period between their graduation and their first day in their new jobs. During this journey your efforts will be equally divided between two aspects:
Tech projects: You will stand up and oversee software delivery projects that our graduates can join to develop their skills and gain more experience in a professional environment. Graduates can join all roles from developer to tester to product manager depending on what they want to apply for later on. There is a large network of volunteers that will support you and you will be central to coordinating everyone’s efforts.
Employability: You will structure and coordinate the graduates’ efforts to find suitable vacancies, identify gaps in their skills and experience, close them by joining one of our tech projects, refine CVs and prepare for interviews. Taking a train the trainer approach you will be able to multiply your impact by coordinating our network of coaches who will then work with the graduates. Where we already have ties with employers you will work with their recruitment teams to place our candidates, where we don’t yet have relationships you will help to build and maintain these.
WHO YOU ARE
You are looking for an opportunity to make a real, tangible impact on the lives of refugees, asylum seekers and other people who are less privileged. You are a caring and emotionally intelligent individual who passionately believes that everyone deserves a thriving life.
You are a well organised leader who is able to foster a productive work environment leading people who work to different schedules, remotely and around other commitments. You can make a community gel and make everyone feel part of something worthwhile.
You have a good understanding of the different roles that are part of a project team in Agile software development. Your understanding allows you to bring people together as performant teams and support them so that they can learn and grow in their roles.
You are able to come up with product ideas and shape and communicate a product vision. You can work with clients, be it pro-bono or paying, to negotiate and agree scope. You know what it takes to get a working product delivered.
You are a friendly and engaging person who enjoys working with a complex stakeholder landscape of students, graduates, volunteers, and employers across multiple countries.
