No. Many of our graduates who had never coded before now have great jobs in tech. Our first course, the Intro to Coding, is designed for people who have never coded.
If you succeed in this course, you can apply for the Full-stack course.
Intro to Coding:
Open now. This is a self-paced course.
If you want to attend the Full-stack Course, you have to complete the Intro to Coding course.
- In the West Midlands, if you want to attend the next Full-stack course, the deadline to complete all steps in the Intro to Coding course is July 6th 2020.
- For London, if you want to attend the next Full-Stack course, the deadline to complete the Intro to Coding course is 9th August 2020.
Full-Stack course
- Greater London: September 2020
- West Midlands: July 2020
- North West: early 2021
- Glasgow: early 2021
Besides Refugees and Asylum Seekers the following people are eligible:
- Single Parents with low income
- Those diagnosed with mental health, learning or physical disabilities
- Those who live in a household with total income below the UK poverty line of 16k per year (or the local household poverty line)
- Woman, minorities, ex-offenders OR anyone else experiencing problems getting the education needed to find meaningful work - including being homeless or long-term unemployed - you can let us know your reasons for applying when you register
- Refugees or Asylum Seekers
- Single Parents with low income

Is it possible to complete the The Intro to Coding while on benefits, if you follow benefits guidance. Please check with your Benefits officer before you proceed.
For the Programming Fundamentals and Full-Stack Courses, please check with your benefits officer.
Usually, we will give you a laptop once you complete Step 1 of the Intro to Coding course which can be completed using a mobile phone. However, due to the pandemic, we are currently unable to deliver laptops and are looking for solutions. Please register and complete Step 1 of the Intro to Coding course, a Sololearn tutorial, we will contact you with updates on how you can progress.

We suggest that you attend the Intro to Coding workshops for help with your coursework - there you will receive guidance from professionals from the tech industry.
We do not provide official certification. Please note: most coding jobs don't require a certificate, only the ability to code to a provable standard, and the ability to work in a team. We will get you to the point of job readiness and guide you through the job interview process.
A good level of English reading and speaking is required. We can help you improve your English on the full 8-month course
- We will pay for transport and childcare on class days once they start in person again
- After the pandemic, we will loan you a laptop if you don't have one - once you have completed Step 1 using your mobile phone. Ask about this at a workshop.
- We can pay for internet costs, please ask about this at a workshop.
