CYF trustee (alumni)

Main goal of the role

To serve on the board of trustees, providing strategic guidance for the organisation and ensuring decisions are mission and community-based.

The community trustee will help to hold CYF’ Strategy team accountable by confirming the organisation meets the needs of its target groups and accomplishes its goals and objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Dedicate at least 6-8 hours per month including attending board meetings
  • Attend 2 community events or classes per quarter.
  • Review, approve and monitor plans, budgets and performance.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Uphold strong ethics and confidentiality, disclosing any conflicts.
  • Share insights about their past experience as an applicant, trainee and grad
  • Support with relevant networking activities and potential partnership introductions
  • Stay informed on issues affecting the organisation

Requirements:

  • You are a CYF grad who understands the challenges of our trainees and community members through lived experience
  • You have volunteered for CYF for at least 1 cohort, working directly with trainees
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a tech role following CYF graduation
  • Some experience in a volunteer leadership role within CYF is a plus
