If so, we invite you to join us at Code Your Future (CYF), a UK-based non-profit organisation dedicated to training some of the most deprived members of society to become web developers and assisting them in starting careers in the tech industry.

As we continue to expand our impact, we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Trustees and play a key role in shaping the future of our organisation. We would particularly value applications from candidates who have volunteered with CYF for at least one cohort, working directly with trainees, and possess a minimum of five years of professional experience. Additionally, some experience in a volunteer leadership role within CYF would be considered a strong asset.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Dedicate a minimum of 6-8 hours per month, including attendance at board meetings.
  • Participate in 2 community events or classes per quarter.
  • Review, approve, and monitor plans, budgets, and performance to ensure alignment with our goals.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Good, independent judgement in decision-making processes.
  • An ability to think creatively to address challenges and opportunities.
  • An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship.
  • An ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to make decisions in the best interest of the charity.
  • An understanding of financial statements and budgeting.
